Fostering an Environment of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
We empower, respect and value all individuals. At Glenmede, DEI is at the center of who we are, what we stand for, and how we operate.
An Empowering Team-Based Culture
Our inclusive team-based culture is welcoming and enables employees to be their authentic selves. We believe that collaboration among employees with varied backgrounds, experiences and perspectives leads to enhanced decision-making and better outcomes for our clients and for our communities.
What DEI Means to Us
Diversity
Diversity includes all visible and nonvisible dimensions that make us who we are. It is understanding that everyone is unique and recognizing our differences.
Equity
Equity means providing fair access to opportunities, networks, resources and support for growth, development and advancement.
Inclusion
Inclusion is a dynamic state of operating in which each person is treated fairly and feels welcome, respected and valued for their unique perspectives and contribution.
Our Values in Action
With the support and involvement of our senior leadership and DEI Council, we engage in numerous efforts to respond to the evolving needs of our employees, clients and communities.
Creating Connections for Change
Our Employee Resource Groups, or ERGs, bring together colleagues who share a common identity, characteristic or lived experiences and those who support them. These groups are employee-led, empowered change agents for Glenmede.
WING offers a supportive environment for women and provides opportunities to develop leadership skills and broader their networks.
Multicultural Mosaic promotes diversity, celebrating different life experiences and cultivating an environment that fosters respect, equity and opportunity.
CARES offers a safe place for employees who are caregivers, where they can get support from colleagues and access resources.
SAGA furthers our vision of Glenmede as an equitable and welcoming place for LGBTQ+ employees, where they can feel heard, safe and seen as their complete authentic selves.
Continuous Commitment
Since our founding in 1956, Glenmede has maintained a proud history of supporting and promoting women. Our Management Committee and senior leadership comprise executives from each business area and key corporate functions. We connect women to organizations like the Women in Investing Network of Philadelphia, the Forum of Executive Women and The Power of Professional Women to create networks and nurture development.
We focus on giving back to the communities where we live and work. Employees are involved in a number of programs and volunteer efforts throughout the year, whether it’s preparing care packages, tutoring or reading to students, speaking on career panels, taking leadership roles in community organizations or serving on boards of directors.
Financially, we support our communities through our Matching Giving Program, sponsorships, events, and various donation drives held throughout the year.
Proud of Our Culture
We strive to provide our employees with the pathways they need to make a meaningful impact on our firm, our communities and our clients. In our experience, employees make long-term commitments to a firm they are proud to represent.
